|
Program Details
"Pick & Roll" is designed for girls between the ages of 13– 18 (grade 8-12) who need experience in applying their basketball skills into a team dynamic in the form of a 3on3, 8-week league. Length of Program The “Pick & Roll” 3on3 league is offered once a week, for 1 hour over a period of 8 weeks. The program will take place every Thursday starting October 9 - December 11, 2025 from 7:00pm - 8:00pm. Blackout dates are: November 20 & December 4, 2025. *Dates subject to change. We may go until Dec. 18 if there are any foreseeable cancellations beyond our control. Two Divisions The league will be divided into two divisions: beginner and advanced and will be determined by the coaching staff. Parents and participants do not have a "say" on which team they want to be on. Again, this program is to "enhance" a girl's skill & confidence, which often means to be uncomfortable in order to learn and grow. Location Senator O'Connor College School is located at 60 Rowena Drive, Toronto, ON, M3A 3R2. Cost The cost is $200 for 8 weeks. |
Program Breakdown:
Participants will be assembled into teams of 3 and will learn team plays to be successful at scoring like the pick & roll. There will be two weeks of trading to ensure all teams are balanced. By the end of week 3, there will be no more trades and all teams will be final. The only game that counts is the last week, where it will be a tournament format. 7:00pm - 7:25pm: Warm-up & Team Skills Training Each division will participate as an entire group in a warm-up and skill training. 7:25pm - 7:55pm: Team Games Each team will play 10-min games against another team in their division to compete for the g.a.b championship title. The only game that counts is the final. 7:55pm - 7:59pm: Team Feedback & Life-Skill Homework The program incorporates a weekly "team life-skill" homework that will teach girls a variety of important off-court lessons to improve their team dynamics and overall confidence. The goal is for participants to work towards the assigned homework as a team throughout the 8 weeks. |
