Program Details
"Active Women" is a 10-week cycle, once-a-week drop-in program that focuses on building active habits through community basketball for one hour. This program is for women aged 18 years and older who want to get active by playing weekly basketball games. Each week adults will warm-up, compete and stretch while connecting on a life theme/technique. Warm-up: There will be 10 minutes of warming up the body before active play. Compete: There will be 40 minutes of basketball play. There are no set teams. There is no commitment to attend every week. It's a space for women to just be active, stretch and connect. Connect: There will be 10 minutes of stretching & connecting on a life theme/technique. |

PLEASE NOTE **Only those who are actively participating are allowed in the gymnasium. There are no spectators allowed.**
Length of Program
The program runs every Thursday over a 10-week cycle from 8:00pm - 9:00pm.
Cycle #1: Starts January 9, 2025 - March 27, 2025
Cycle #2: Starts April 3, 2025 - June 12, 2025
Cancelled permit dates: March 6 & 13, April 24, 2025.
Equipment
Size 6 basketballs, and yoga matts will be on site for adults to use. Adults need to wear active clothing and running shoes (t-shirts, shorts, jogging pants, etc.).
Safety
Location
The program will take place inside the gymnasium at Senator O’Connor College School located at 60 Rowena Drive, Toronto, ON, M3A 3R2. Enter through the doors closest to the garbage bins.
Parking
Parking is available on site for free. Park on the left side of the school. Please avoid parking in front of the doors or you will be subject to a parking ticket.
Cost
The costs are based on whether you are a g.a.b member or not. A g.a.b member is defined as having been registered to at least one of our programs as a child since 2005. A child is defined as 17 years old and younger.
g.a.b member fee: $5 per drop.
non-g.a.b member fee: $10per drop.
***Must register ahead of time, pay at the door when you drop-in. Photo ID must be presented***

Safety
- Keep all fingernails trimmed (no long nails, acrylics, extensions, etc)
- Jewellery must be taken off for safety concerns (hooped or dangling earrings, bracelets, chains & rings)
- We lock the doors by 8:10pm for added security
