- MUST be a Toronto resident (postal code starts with "M") OR Durham region resident (Ajax, Brock, Clarington, Oshawa, Pickering, Scugog, Uxbridge, Whitby).
- MUST be at least 16 years of age as of June 22, 2024
- MUST be available to volunteer at g.a.b - girls addicted to basketball for a season. **This is part of the NCCP certification as you will have to be evaluated at our organization. DURHAM RESIDENTS - a new location in Durham will be opening up for g.a.b - girls addicted to basketball so you don't have to volunteer in Toronto.

WHAT ARE THE COACHING STREAMS?
For the NCCP Competition Stream, there are two age groups to coach. We are offering Step 1: Learn to Train for 8-16 year olds.
This certification course will teach you how to:
- Develop a strong understanding of Long-term Athlete Development (LTAD) and how it relates to your athletes
- Break down and teach fundamental basketball concepts (including: shooting, loading, dynamic warm-ups, 1-second advantage, spacing, footwork, and error detection/correction)
- Load a basketball skill and drill
- Develop an effective practice plan
- “Make Ethical Decisions” – a powerful six-step decision-making process for every coach and an NCCP requirement for all sports.
WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS WORKSHOP?
- Girls (16+)/Women who are serious about getting into coaching with no prior experience
- Coaches looking to enhance their knowledge and effectiveness coaching youth;
- Coaches looking to augment their coaching knowledge by acquiring a ‘games approach’ to drills and an understanding of this age group;
- Coaches working with competitive youth players in the Learn to Train stage of LTAD.
