EDUCATIONAL MENTOR
Become an Educational Mentor
g.a.b welcomes experienced educational mentors to join the existing coaching staff to inspire and lead in the development of girls basketball programming. The position is open to all, but preference will be given to a female who can speak to personal experiences. An educational mentor guides, empowers and delivers educational sessions relating to our mission in the development of self-confidence and healthy decision-making.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for creating dynamic and engaging "life skill" sessions for our programs. Must create lesson plans that coaches can read and apply in their coaching activities. Must include an activity worksheet for each youth to participate in. Actively supports participants in the mentoring role. Reports to Director and submits final report of program deliverables and areas of improvements.
Requirements
Must be a dynamic speaker who can command an audience, be able to project your voice, and create interactive lessons. Responsible for training coaches on lessons. Must be personable, approachable, inspirational and demonstrates a willingness to motivate youth to be better persons. Will need two references.
