Program Details "Learn the Game" is designed for girls between the ages of 6 - 8 who want to learn more about playing the game of basketball while developing their basketball skills and confidence.
10 skills, 10 affirmations, 10 mini competitions Each week, the girls will learn one basketball skill, one positive statement about themselves and apply it to a structured competitive setting. The goal is to engage girls in learning more about how the game of basketball is played in order to better prepare them for our next level of basketball programming for 9-12 year olds called "Build Your Skills".

Location "Learn the Game" will take place inside half of the gymnasium of Senator O'Connor College School located at 60 Rowena Drive, Toronto, ON, M3A 3R2.
Cost Price varies from year-to-year as g.a.b strives to find sponsors and or donors to lower the cost of operation.
Length of Program The “Learn the Game” program is offered every THURSDAY, for one hour, over a period of 10 weeks from October - December. Program Breakdown:
6:00pm - 6:10pm Warm-up & dynamic stretching Participants will engage in a variety of play-based warm-ups each week, followed by stretching in movement.
6:10pm - 6:40pm Skill Training Participants will be taught specific basketball skills each week. A schedule will be sent to you personally once you register.
6:40pm - 6:50pm Competitive Structured Games Based on the basketball skill that was just taught, participants will compete in a variety of games to reinforce that skill.
6:55pm - 7:00pm Affirmation Wrap-Up Throughout the skill training portion, participants will be declaring a positive statement throughout the 30mins. At the end of the structured games, participants will have to recite the learnt affirmation out loud and will be given a task to do for the week.
