Program Details
"Get in the Game" is designed for girls between the ages of 13– 18 (grade 8-12) who want to enhance their basketball skills and team play in the form of a 10-week house league. In addition to participating in physical activity, our program incorporates a weekly life-skill session that will teach girls a variety of important off-court lessons to improve their overall confidence and self-esteem. Every week there is a goal for participants to work towards and the coaches keep them accountable throughout the 10 weeks. This season's life-skill session is "Building an App". Participants will be building their own application. Computers are provided. One Division, Four Teams Girls entering the program will be assembled into four teams. There will be two weeks of trading to ensure all four teams are balanced. By the end of week 3, there will be no more trades and all teams will be final. Parents and participants do not have a "say" on which team they want to be on. Again, this program is to "enhance" a girl's skill & confidence, which often means to be uncomfortable in order to learn and grow. Length of Program The “Get in the Game” house league is a once a week, 2 hour program over a period of 10 weeks. The program will take place every Thursday starting March 28 - June 6, 2024 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Cost The price is $260 for 10 weeks. |
