SUMMER CAMP
August Summer Camp
During the second week of August, g.a.b offers an intermediate / advanced 5 day camp for girls between the ages of 13 -18 during the hours of 9am – 3pm. The program focuses on improving the existing basketball skills of each of the participants. We have a low coach to participant ratio which allows each participant to achieve their maximum potential as we only accept 20 youth and offer up to four coaches. In addition to improving basketball skills, we spend 30mins – 1 hour every day on teaching life skills. Each year focuses on a different topic ranging from health & nutrition, injury prevention, conflict resolution, money management, goal-setting, career planning, to leadership. Participants joining the camp are expected to bring in their own refreshments and lunches every day that are peanut-free. Cost & Location Cost varies from year to year as g.a.b always strives to find sponsors and or fundraises to lower the cost of operation. Location also varies depending on access to gymnasiums around the city. Registration Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis as the summer camp takes only a maximum of 20 participants. Registration begins in the Spring. |
