Program Details
"Get in the Game" is designed for girls between the ages of 11 – 18  who want to learn, develop and enhance their basketball skills.

In addition to participating in physical activity, our program incorporates a weekly life skill session that will teach girls a variety of important off-court lessons to improve their overall confidence and self-esteem. Every week there is a goal for participants to work towards and the coaches keep them accountable throughout the 10 weeks.

Skill Development Division
This division is for girls who are just learning about the game and want to learn and improve on their skill.

Skill Enhancement Division
This division is for girls who want to improve upon their existing skills at a competitive level.

Length of Program
The “Get in the Game” league is a once a week, 2 hour program over a period of 10 weeks.

Cost & Location
Cost varies from year to year as g.a.b always strives to find sponsors and or donors to lower the cost of operation.  Location also varies depending on access to gymnasiums around the city.
Program Breakdown
Participants will be assembled into a division and placed on a team with a maximum of 10 players.  Team selection is based on development level and it will take approximately two weeks to complete.  There is no try-out to become a participant.

First Hour: Training & Life Skills Teaching
Each division will participate as an entire group in warm-up and skill training.  Then, participants are engaged in specific life skills programming focused on confidence building, healthy choices and careers in business & health.

Second Hour: Team Games
Each team will play a full game against another team in their division to compete for the g.a.b championship title. The only game that counts is the final.

Each team will play half court; so all four teams will be playing all at once.  The final game will be played full court.
